Peter and Betty Burnett fervently believe
that God deserves more glory and honor in and from Port
Charlotte.
As a
couple, they reflect the international vision of
PCIC, being from two
different national backgrounds - Peter from Jamaica and
Betty from upstate New York. Their marriage and work
together in ministry since 1987 has reflected a burden to
help others in their own personal journey for fulfillment
and success. They have been actively involved in the
development and encouragement of Christian leaders primarily
from all across the Caribbean Islands since 1986. Today,
many of these young men and women are playing vital roles in
the Church and the development of their communities in
Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica and many other
nations.
They have consistently encouraged others that
neither nationality, color, place of birth, family heritage
nor family success is an indication of the potential and
destiny of that individual. Peter and Betty believe that
people are people everywhere.
Peter and Betty served as the Director of the
Caribbean Christ For the Nations Institute, an international
Bible college in Montego Bay, Jamaica before migrating to
South Florida in 1999. Both are graduates of Christ For the Nations
Institute in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Peter also holds a Master
of Ministries Degree from Southwestern Christian University,
Oklahoma.
Peter and Betty moved to Port Charlotte in
July 2003. Before that they lived in Clewiston, Florida
where they served on the leadership team of New Harvest
Church. They have four wonderful children who partner
with them in ministry.
